Barkway Lane House

Transformed a dark den into a bright, inviting space with a refaced fireplace, built-ins, and lighter oak-patterned LVT flooring, plus a renovated half bath.

Featuring a wall-to-wall stone fireplace, limited storage, and dark finishes, the den in this home felt uninviting and impractical for a family with two young children. To transform the space, the fireplace was refaced with thin brick, and the hearth was shortened to make room for new built-ins. The original flooring was replaced with a lighter oak-patterned LVT, and the walls were painted a soft white, bringing a fresh brightness to the room.

The original half bath off the den measured just 4'6" x 4' and was quite small. It was expanded to 5' x 5' and updated with bright, modern finishes.
